While trekking and on Cultural Tours:

Dressing conservatively with covered shoulders and pants earns the most respect, while backless tops and tight leggings invite unwanted attention, and in some monasteries you are even considered rude for not respecting the monastic disciplines. Longer shorts are fine when hot. Mini and macro skirt are not recommended while trekking, in a monastery or visiting a local family house.

 While in Delhi:

Delhi is usually hot and humid in the month of July & Aug, so bring light, loose and cool clothes. (For cottons loose paints, shirts and Pajamas Delhi’s Sarojini market is a best place in the world for best bargaining). Leh is dry and hot during the day and evenings are cooler. Even you experience a hot day, a light jacket is recommended to carry along for the evening hangout.

 Trek Facts:

You must be prepared in July-August-September for hailstones, snow, dust storms and dry heat with temperatures up to 35°C/84°F. Usually river crossings are easy on all trek routes, except the Zunglam,  but after continue dazzling for two days or a thunder storm followed by rain might make it to waist deep. For big groups we always send a 15meters rope to support, for river crossings.  During the day all trekkers should carry a warm layer of jacket (windproof/waterproof layer (Gore-text layered is always ideal)  and for river crossings, a sandals with ankle straps, or old trainers. For trekking, the best upper layers are the sweat-free t-shirts that made by many companies and come in a wide variety, long sleeve, zip top, short sleeve. The long sleeves with collar are suggested to keep off the strong sun.  For trousers, all the outdoor companies make a wide range of travel and trekking pants, most of them amazing for their quality and design. The ones featuring zip off lower legs to make shorts are handy. A good sun hat (either wide brim or with a neck protector, or ordinary hat and light neck scarf) and a pair of sunglasses is must
